Clinical Supervision

Clinical supervision is imperative to ensuring that all Occupational Therapists are maintaining best practice, ability to learn and integrate new information to their work. A portion of all supervision provided can be counted towards continuing professional development requirements. See below to gain understanding of what supervision with ATOT will look like.

Expectations

Supervision expectations for both the ATOT supervisor and supervisee will be agreed upon at the beginning of the relationship and will be upheld as closely as possible. This will ensure that needs of both parties are met and the working relationship will be successful.

The goal of the ATOT supervisor is to facilitate growth in both personal and professional avenues, including but not limited to knowledge, confidence, passion, and work ethic.

Supervision will be related to occupational therapy context only, and operational guidance will be the responsibility of your employer.

Telehealth or face ot face in the local Canberra area can be provided. Please note that 2 hour sessions are recommended, and fortnightly or monthly sessions can be accommodated based on experience and requirement of each individual.

Experience

I have been an Occupational Therapist for over almost a decade, working in the aged care and disability sectors. I have been working within the NDIS space since the trial rollout in ACT and understand the need to be dynamic and adaptive in the NDIS space. As a supervisor my strengths are that I have worked as a generalist and have knowledge across all occupational therapy expectations within the NDIS space.

This includes assessments such as functional. sensory and cognitive, staff and family training, assistive technology, home modifications, therapy and manual handling. in addition, i can provide supervision support for generalised skills such as empathy, relationship building, workload management and self-advocacy.
